In a report published in the past hours, Citibank offered a very positive view of the future of the metaverse concept, estimating that metaverse could represent a $13 trillion revenue opportunity.

 

The report explained that the total addressable market (TAM) of Metaverse must be calculated by adding all Internet-related revenue to that generated by the physical world activities being transferred.

Thus, Citi has identified investment opportunities in 5 different areas:

 

Operating systems that connect people and people

Blockchain that decentralizes economic and digital global systems

Natural user interfaces, eg voice typing tools and gestures, for better delivery control

Extended Reality (XR) Headphones

Cloud architecture

 

As for stock performance from this photo, Verizon Communications (NYSE: VZ) silenced T-Mobile of America (: TMUS) and AT&T (T).

 

However, the bank clarified that given the young age of this market, there are many risks to consider at this point, in terms of technology, regulation, privacy and cryptocurrency risks that must be overcome before their widespread use.

 

When it comes to cryptocurrencies related to the Metaverse concept, the past year has been largely positive for them already, as a platform report showed.

The study of the trading platform, in partnership with CoinGeco, also showed that the Metaverse crypto category significantly outperforms all other cryptocurrency categories, up nearly 400% year-over-year.

Gains are led by Dcentraland (MANA), up 41%, Sandbox (SAND), 470%, Axis Infinity (AXS), up 511%, and Steben (GMT) up 746%, according to the data of the report.
