The manager of Saudi Arabia’s national football team, Hervé Renard, briefed the sports community on the Green Falcons’ preparations for the qualifiers of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and The AFC Asian Cup 2023. The press conference, held by the Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF) and organised by Legends PR and Communications agency, was held remotely because of the covid pandemic; it was live-streamed on SAFF’s YouTube and Twitter accounts.

Renard said that the national team was in good shape for the World Cup qualifiers after a hiatus of more than a year caused by the pandemic. He added that they were ready to play the upcoming match against the Palestinian team despite the absence of some of Saudi’s main players such as Salman Al-Faraj and Ali Al-Bulaihi.

SAFF appointed Renard to train the Green Falcons in 2019, when he took over from Juan Antonio Pizzi. His main challenge is to ensure that the team qualifies to compete at Qatar 2022.
